About
I first heard about D’ni from the game Myst which was created by a company called CyanWorlds.
I started learning as much as I could about the Ages described in the game and D’ni, one might say it became an obsession. In 2000 I had heard rumors of the cavern being inhabited again, I followed every clue and read any piece of information I could.
In 2002 the DRC site went public, and we knew that D’ni had been discovered and people were in the cavern restoring the lost empire.
In the summer of 2003 I was invited into the Cavern for a brief visit, alas I was only down there a couple of hours before I had to head back to the surface. A few days later I received a letter from Zandi, inside were details on where to access the Cavern.
The Third Path
When the DRC had pulled out and closed the Cavern, the remaining core members of The Third Path banded together and made their way back to Ae’gura and its Ages.
Operating from the Tehren Neighbourhood, the group started gathering information and later started actually repairing and restoring parts of D’ni and its Ages, starting with the Tehren Hood.
The group is structured much like the DRC from which is drew inspiration, a council of 5 members overlooks the restoration process and pass the phases that an Age/Area goes through. The group also has Engineers that help out with the work.
KIimage Serial Code
I developed a serial code that is embedded in all of my KIimages, this code provides a little more information into the nature of the shot. Who it was taken by, when it was taken, the nature of the image (UC, IG, FM etc).

D’ni
The D’ni (New Again) started off in another age called Garternay (Root of the Great Tree), Back then the people were not called D’ni but were called Ronay (People of the Root). The Ronay had the ability to write books that linked to other worlds or Ages as they called them (This practice was called The Art). These books were called Linking Books. The Ronay used The Art to create links to other worlds when it was discovered that Garternay’s sun was dying. The Ronay split off into various ages 2 of which were Terahnee (New Tree) and D’ni.
It was 10,000 years ago that the D’ni arrived on Earth (or D’ni as they called the age). Since when they have thrived in a cavern under the earths surface in the New Mexico desert. Until roughly 200 years ago when D’ni fell.Since then an attempt to rebuild the empire by Atrus and his group failed resulting in the D’ni moving to a new age written by Atrus called Releeshahn.
D’ni was then rediscovered by a man called John “Fighting Branch” Loftin. He called in a friend Elias Zandi to help him. Elias formed the DRF (D’ni Restoration Foundation) to restore D’ni once again. After his death the DRF founded the DRC (D’ni Restoration Council). In 2004 the DRC disbanded and the restoration effort was abandoned but people still explorered the Cavern hoping to restore it.
