KI Serial Code

After the events a while ago about the fake sighting of Yeesha in the Cavern using an Until Uru screenshot, I felt that using a serial code on KI images would be able to show the status of an image without breaking the In Character illusion. Ultimately I had hoped it would catch on and perhaps become a standard for the community to make life easier for people but I doubt that it will ever happen.

The serial code on my KIimages are split into 3 parts

20.04.07:IG - K.Lord

The first part is obviously the date the image was “taken”, the second part if the status of the image. Each set of letters represent a different status those of which are as follows;

  • IG: In Game - These shots were taken in game without any editing what-so-ever.
  • IGE: In Game Edited - These shots were taken in game but may have had some work done to them in Photoshop to perhaps make them look more photographic.
  • FM: Fan Made - These shots are heavily edited in Photoshop and often show things which are not actually possible within the Uru Live environment.
  • UC: Uru Complete Chronicles - These shots were taken from the Uru Complete Chronicles series.
  • UU: Until Uru - These shots were taken from Until Uru.
  • HU: Hacked Uru (Huru) - These shots were taken from a modified offline version of Uru Ages Beyond Myst/Uru Complete Chronicles, like Fan Made these images can often show things which are not regularly available in the Uru Live environment.
  • MV: Myst V End of Ages - Images taken in game from Myst V End of Ages.

It should be noted that this isn’t all the codes, some are mixed around, for example MVE would be Myst V End of Ages Edited, regardless the declaration of the images status is still there.

I have had to change the serial code for Uru Complete Chronicles from U double C to UC because WordPress doesn’t like me typing UC and another C together for some reason.

Finally the third and last part of the serial code is the name of the person who “took” the image in question.
